Yafa is a from scratch approach fast casual restaurant focused on traditional fare that would normally only be available in Arabic homes. With a menu primarily consisting of share plates it’s a vibrant café that brings people together and a great venue for friends and family to connect and build strong ties through sharing food. We are looking to hire the following positions for flexible, full time or part time shifts, energetic characters that are able to contribute to the success of the team.
Baristas who make a great coffee, motivated and reliable, have excellent time management skills, friendly, tidy and well presented, good at communicating with customers, able to develop a friendly, courteous rapport with customers keeping our regulars satisfied, providing hospitality that goes above and beyond with a commitment to demonstrating cultural awareness and sensitivity at all times. Must care for co-workers, happy to help with all parts of service, to keep shop and counter area cleaned at all time. Maintain focus during busy or stressful periods. Prior coffee experience is required for the barista positions
Bakers: successful candidate will be a perfectionist with a strong attention to detail, enjoy working in a fast paced environment working effectively as part of a team and independently. Previous bakery experience required. Bakers should be experienced creating products from scratch and will be required to Sheet manakeesh dough on an automatic dough sheeter, create and bake Arabic Tabun breads from scratch, scale and mix ingredients, operate a stone oven and able to know the art of proper oven and proofing use and the safeguard and maintenance of equipment in accordance to Occupational Health and Safety Standards. Maintain exceptional punctuality and attendance, your team depends on you.
Cooks: Plan and introduce unique plates and sandwich variations in alignment with theme of Restaurant and determine related food and labor costs. Oversee kitchen operations, including supervise, train and schedule other cooks, maintain inventory, records of food and supplies. Must be flexible, adaptable and comfortable working under pressure, comfortable with multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks, having a verified record of punctuality/attendance and time management. Consider health and safety for your team, our customers, our suppliers, and yourself.
